We have made several attempts to install the 10.2 to the rp7410 server configuration without success. As suspected the 32 bit OS is not compatible with the 64 bit architecture of the rp class server. The OS load is not able to negotiate the servers core I/O structure and simply hangs the server at the " HARD BOOT " message. Without the correct drivers for the associated components of the rp class servers, the OS can not us the resources available to the rp i.e. disk, dvd, or external tape.

As a side note the 10.2 OS is not able to handle the hard and soft partitioning for the rp class and would not be able to be divided correctly. The driver base has also changed with the newer Enterprise hardware as the I/O structure has changed. Drivers for the new I/O of the rp class were never written or added the the 10.2 OS through hardware enablement.

我们曾经数次尝试在RP7410上安装10.20 操作系统，但都失败了。估计在64位的RP级服务器上是不能安装32位的OS。OS安装过程中因为不能和服务器I/O匹配，导致把服务器挂起，并显示“HARD BOOT”。由于10.20操作系统不包含RP级服务器硬盘、DVD、磁带机等外设的驱动，导致RP级服务器安装操作系统失败。

另外，10.20操作系统不能在RP级服务器上进行硬分区和软分区。
